Risbygate Club is located on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, an ancient market town famed for its beautiful Abbey Gardens and, more recently, the addition of a magnificent new tower atop the St Edmundsbury Cathedral.

Bury St Edmunds has around 100,000 inhabitants and is situated equidistant between Ipswich and Cambridge. The town lies alongside the busy A14 trunk road which links the Port of Felixstowe and the Midlands.

With the arrival of a multi-screen cinema and restaurant complex, and development of the old Cattle Market site now a reality, the town’s shopping centre is about to undergo significant expansion.

Risbygate Club is run by a management committee comprising representatives from each of the seven sections. Minutes of monthly meetings are available for inspection by the membership, currently in excess of 900. Members hold a variety of fund-raising events throughout the year, supporting the local St Nicholas Hospice and McMillan Cancer Relief.

Externally the site accommodates two bowling greens, four tennis courts (plus a practice court), an area for petanque and a large car park. Inside is a four rink bowling green, two squash courts, changing rooms and shower facilities. The clubhouse is fitted out with two bars, each with its own lounge area.
